Position

The research engineer will be responsible for setting up and conducting experiments for clinical, translational and biomedical studies run at the Immunomonitoring platform of the Institut Pasteur, Paris. The immunomonitoring activity is focused on the characterization of adaptive and innate immune responses and on the identification of diagnostic, prognostic and response biomarkers in health and disease. The pipelines and read-outs include functional immune cell assays, phenotyping by high-dimensional flow cytometry, protein and transcriptome profiling. The research engineer will be supervising one technician and will be working in an iso9001-certified environment.

She/he must have an expertise in cytometry (over 15 parameters) and should have experience in handling human and infectious material. Ideally, the candidate should have already participated to the analysis of samples in the context of clinical and translational studies. An experience with immunoassays (e.g. Luminex, Simoa) is an advantage. A basic knowledge in molecular biology is a plus.

We are looking for a candidate who is autonomous, self-motivated and has initiative. She/he is able to integrate and work efficiently within a team and has good communication skills.

Environment

The Immunomonitoring Platform is part of the Cytometry and Biomarkers Unit of Technology and Service (CB UTechS) that facilitates biomedical research through thirty-three innovative technologies for cellular phenotyping and sorting, as well as for molecular profiling with single cell resolution. A project-tailored data analysis completes sample processing and analysis and ensures an integrated support to each project. Training, service and scientific collaborations are proposed by the team of 15 research engineers, technicians and bioinformaticians. The quality certification ISO9001 provides quality assurance of the provided support.

The Immunomonitoring platform has a mission of providing turn-key support to biomedical research at the Institut through variuos pipelines established by the CB UTechS.

The CB UTechS currently welcomes over 150 projects from about 90 scientific and clinical laboratories and hosts users coming from the Institut Pasteur, external academic institutions and industry.

The CB UTechS is immersed in the scientifically fertile and multicultural environment of the Institut Pasteur of Paris. It provides opportunities for working and collaborating with researchers on campus and around the world. It also nurtures developing new skills, establishing networks, and disseminating knowledge.
