Here is the letter from the Organizing Committee:
On behalf of the Local Organising Committee, I would like to extend a warm welcome and invite you to join us at the 2024 Antigen Processing and Presentation Workshop (APPW24), which will take place at the Hilton Cairns Hotel in Queensland, Australia on the 27-30 May, 2024.
The APPW meetings started in 1995 and were held every 2-3 years all over the world until 2019, but were postponed in 2020-2023 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. APPW24 marks the resumption of the series. These workshops have consistently rated as a favourite meeting for researchers in the field since their inception. Their format encourages vigorous discussion of unpublished data and offers ample opportunities for presentations by scientists at all career stages. Most of the Invited Speakers are self-funded and registrations for students are very affordable.
The Local Organising Committee is preparing an exciting four-day program featuring the most prominent international leaders in the field. A large proportion of oral presentations will be selected from submitted abstracts. Poster sessions will complete a dynamic and innovative program that will bring together leading researchers, clinicians and technologists from across the globe.
Scientific ideas, collaborations and opportunities for career development benefit from in person meetings where attendees can engage, face-to-face, during networking sessions in an informal setting. This is a hallmark of the APPW series that will continue in 2024 in an idyllic location. Queensland is a vibrant region and first-class tourist destination, with Cairns as the primary gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. The Hilton Cairns Hotel is a world class facility offering a combination of comfort and convenience located in the heart of the city.
As I welcome you to APPW2024, I am grateful for the contributions of the Local Organising Committee and Arinex, our professional conference organiser. I would also like to pay my respects to the past, present and future elders of the Traditional Custodians of the Cairns region, the Yirrganydji people.
I look forward to seeing you and your most recent scientific advances in Cairns, and hope you, either as a solo traveller or along with your family, are able to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to explore beautiful Queensland and the many other amazing destinations in Australia and New Zealand.
Yours sincerely,
Prof. Jose Villadangos
Chair, Local Organising Committee, APPW2024
