The team of Dr. Serge van de Pavert at the Centre d’Immunologie Marseille Luminy (CIML) invites applications for a 2.5-year postdoctoral position to explore the impact of maternal dietary cholesterol on RORγt activity and the differentiation of type 3 Innate Lymphoid Cells (ILC3). This collaborative project funded by ANR-PRCI and DFG grants with Prof.Dr. Andreas Diefenbach (Charité, Berlin) offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research at the intersection of immunology, developmental biology, and metabolism.
Project Overview
ILC3s play critical roles in embryonic lymph node development, postnatal intestinal lymphoid tissue formation, and gut immunity. Our work has demonstrated that RORγt, a key transcription factor in ILC3 development, is modulated by retinoic acid and cholesterol metabolism intermediates. This project will investigate how maternal dietary cholesterol influences RORγt activity and imprints immune function in offspring, utilizing advanced immunological and developmental biology techniques.
Key Responsibilities
– Conduct experiments in mouse models to study ILC3 differentiation.
– Perform microscopy, flow cytometry, and other advanced immunological techniques.
– Collaborate with team members at CIML and Charité, Berlin.
– Analyze data, write manuscripts, and present findings at conferences.
Qualifications
– PhD in Immunology, Developmental Biology, or a related field.
– Experience with mouse models, microscopy, and flow cytometry is highly desirable.
– Enthusiasm for collaborative, multidisciplinary research.
Environment
The position is based at the Centre d’Immunologie Marseille Luminy (CIML), a leading research institute in immunology. Situated within the beautiful surrounding of the national park the “Calanque”, the CIML offers a vibrant scientific environment, state-of-the-art facilities, and opportunities for career development.
How to Apply
Interested candidates should submit:
– A detailed CV.
– A cover letter outlining research experience and motivation.
– Contact information for 2-3 references.
Applications should be sent to [email protected] with subject “ILC3-Postdoc application”. The start date of the position is 1-March-2025 but can be negotiated for a later date.
