We are recruiting a highly motivated PhD student to join our lab at the Toulouse Institute for Infectious and Inflammatory Diseases (Infinity, Inserm/CNRS, Toulouse, France).
The project will be developed within the “Integrative Mapping of Lymphocyte Signaling and Function” research group and focuses on the mechanisms regulating T-cell activity in the central nervous system (CNS). Although the CNS has long been considered an “immune-privileged” site, growing evidence shows that immune cell infiltration and function are actively controlled. Based on recent preliminary data from our team, we hypothesize that regulation of T-cell receptor (TCR) signaling orchestrates both T-cell entry and functional adaptation within the CNS, thereby shaping its immune landscape at steady state. This PhD project aims to investigate the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying these processes and their impact on immune homeostasis, neuroinflammatory susceptibility, and cognitive function.
This fully funded PhD project sits at the interface of neuroimmunology, T-cell biology, neuroscience and systems biology.
The PhD candidate will combine cutting-edge approaches including:
• Spectral flow cytometry
• scRNA-seq
• Proteomics
• Behavioral analyses in murine models
The position is part of an international collaboration with the University of São Paulo (Brazil) and includes a dedicated travel grant supporting scientific exchange.
